Kabupaten Jayapura, jelajahpapua.com – Sebuah kapal kayu, KLN Minasa Bakti, yang berlayar dari Jayapura menuju Mamberamo dilaporkan tenggelam di perairan Laut Demta, sekitar 3 mil dari pantai Demta. Polsek Demta bersama nelayan setempat berhasil mengevakuasi delapan orang anak buah kapal (ABK) dalam kondisi selamat, Selasa (10/09).
Kapolres Jayapura, AKBP Umar Nasatekay, S.I.K., melalui Kapolsek Demta Ipda Yohanis Deda membenarkan bahwa peristiwa ini terjadi pada Selasa, 10 September 2024, sekitar pukul 11.00 WIT. Aipda Wahyu Auparay dari Polsek Demta mendapat informasi dari anggota SAR mengenai tenggelamnya kapal tersebut. “Setelah melakukan koordinasi dengan SAR dan masyarakat di sekitar Kampung Muris Kecil serta Kampung Demta, Aipda Wahyu bersama Briptu Saul Waseway segera bergerak untuk melakukan evakuasi”ucap Kapolres.
Karena tim SAR masih dalam perjalanan dari Jayapura, Polsek Demta meminta bantuan nelayan setempat untuk segera melaut dan mengevakuasi para ABK. Dengan menggunakan motor RIS, tim gabungan berangkat menuju lokasi tenggelamnya kapal.
Setibanya di lokasi, anggota Polsek Demta berhasil mengevakuasi 8 (delapan) ABK. Para korban kemudian dibawa ke daratan dengan selamat dan diistirahatkan di Polsek Demta sambil menunggu arahan lebih lanjut.
Tak lama kemudian, anggota Polair Polda Papua yang dipimpin oleh Wadir PolAir tiba di Polsek Demta dan mengambil alih penanganan. Seluruh ABK dibawa ke Polda Papua untuk pemeriksaan lebih lanjut. Proses evakuasi berjalan lancar, dan situasi tetap aman serta terkendali.**
