11 Februari 2025 – Sebuah kecelakaan lalu lintas tunggal terjadi di Jalan Raya Tabita, tepatnya di depan Reals Coffee BTN Ceria, Sentani, Kabupaten Jayapura, Selasa (11/2) sekitar pukul 05.30 WIT. Kecelakaan melibatkan satu unit sepeda motor Yamaha Mio 125 berwarna biru putih dengan nomor polisi PA 2227 RS.
Kapolres Jayapura AKBP Umar Nasatekay, S.I.K melalui Kasat Lantas AKP Robertus Rengil menerangkan, Pengendara motor, EP (18), seorang pelajar yang berdomisili di BTN Graha Kaliwe, Yahim, Sentani, mengalami luka parah, termasuk luka sobek di kepala belakang, pinggul, kaki kanan, serta pendarahan di hidung kiri dan lebam di mata kanan.
“Sementara itu, penumpang motor, TLNF(15), seorang pelajar SMP, juga mengalami luka serius, termasuk luka sobek di perut, siku kiri, serta luka lecet di kaki, tangan, dan pinggang kanan”ujar Kasat Lantas.
AKP Robertus Rengil lebih lanjut, Berdasarkan keterangan Saksi di lokasi kejadian, EP melaju dari arah Tabita menuju Kehiran dengan kecepatan tinggi. Sesampainya di depan cucian mobil BTN Ceria, ia kehilangan kendali, sehingga motor keluar dari badan jalan dan menabrak pot bunga di pinggir jalan.
“Benturan tersebut menyebabkan EP terbentur keras pada pot bunga dan meninggal ditempat kejadian, sementara penumpang TLNF mengalami luka-luka serius,” tuturnya.
Dari hasil pemeriksaan awal, diketahui bahwa pengendara sebelumnya mengonsumsi minuman beralkohol sebelum berkendara. Kasat Lantas menegaskan kepada masyarakat untuk selalu berhati-hati dalam berkendara serta menghindari konsumsi alkohol sebelum mengemudi.**
