Bagi Hengky Mathius Derek Fakhiri adalah calon pemimpin Papua yang memahami betul situasi kondisi keamanan dan mempunyai akses yang kuat ke seluruh lini.
Sebagai pemimpin yang masyarakat butuhkan adalah benar benar paham dengan situasi kondisi keamanan dan itu sangatlah penting untuk diperjuangkan.
“Dari kedua kandidat yang ada menurutnya dengan track record yang dilihat, bapak MDF ini yang lebih bagus dengan beberapa hal, MDF seorang mantan Kapolda Papua, juga pernah menjabat sebagai Kapolres Jayapura, memiliki sifat yang rendah hati, serta berpangkat tiga bintang.
Dengan situasi dan kondisi ekonomi. Lalu adanya Daerah Otonom Baru (DOB) yang sudah ada melihat posisi dari Provinsi Papua kita perlu seorang pemimpin yang menguasai seluruh lini, paling tidak memahami betul situasi dan kondisi keamanan. Dalam kontek itu, MDF lebih tepat menjadi Gubernur Provinsi Papua,” ujarnya.
Dari data Badan Pusat Statistik untuk Papua luas wilayahnya Papua sekitar 82.641km² dengan jumlah penduduk rata rata kurang dari 12 jiwa/km.
Sehingga luas wilayah ini termasuk wilayah yang sangat luas atau terluas di kawasan Timur Indonesia setelah Kaltara, Kalteng dan Kaltim. Di Indonesia, posisi dari Provinsi Papua luasannya itu berada di urutan ketujuh dengan penduduk yang sangat sedikit. Dengan potensi yang sangat luar biasa, kita perlu orang yang kuat untuk menjadi gubernur,” jelasnya.
“Kita perlu orang yang kuat untuk menjadi Gubernur yang mampu membuka akses baumik dari pusat sampai daerah serta memiliki komunikasih yang baik kepada TNI/Polri. Lalu harus mampu menggerakkan sektor ekonomi, karena kita sudah tidak bisa berharap lagi dari sektor pertambangan seperti PT Freeport, BP Migas dan BP Tangguh,” terangnya.
Dengan itu Papua kedepannya akan mengandalkan sektor green ekonomi (ekonomi hijau) dan juga blue ekonomi (ekonomi biru).
“Untuk ekonomi hijau itu seperti agropolitan, pariwisata dan reboisasi atau orientasinya kepada eco tourism. Kemudian, ekonomi biru atau blue ekonomi itu di Kawasan Saireri ini akan lebih banyak didorong kepada ekonomi perikanan dan seluruh sektor yang berorientasi kepada laut, apakah itu diving, wisata laut atau sektor pariwisata bawah laut dan lain sebagainya,” ungkapnya.
